I have a problem with my sink drain. When I rotate the the cabinet tops for to the travel position the drain hose kinks and stays that way for long periods of time and then the next time I try to use the sink the drain hose stays pinched which slows the flow of water down to a trickle. I have tried several different hose types from clear very flexible plastic and garden hose to (hard to kink/pinch) flexable underground armoured electrical conduit and it doesn't seal to the P-trap and other fittings. Has anyone solved this problem? I am thinking of using a coupling at that part and then disconnecting it when I stow the sink. Or maybe hot tub hose which is more flexible than that conduit sutff and still hard to kink. Mike |

Your solution should work. I had a similar situation and solved it by cutting the hose at the point of the kink and inserted a short piece of 1/2" copper tubing at the splice and used hose clamps to secure each end. Good luck. jg |

You might also try the reinforced hose. It has the fibers criss crossed thru it. It is stiffer and tends not to kink. It was'nt originaly used on the campers but hey, what the heck! |

I can't believe that OEM Tim said that! |
Anyway, if you use a longer hose so that it has room to curl around, it won't kink. |

Thanks Guys! I will keep these in mind when I go camping again, this summer. I usually do my projects then. If I remember I will let you know what works for me. Mike |

you can get a large cable re-inforcer - shaped like a teardrop - I've heard that this will eliminate the kinking problem. _________________ Dan DW '96 DD '01 Aztek '78 Royal |

What is this? Is there an example on a web page somewhere to view / purchase one of these? |

I think that they are used to reinforce cables against friction - i.e. at an eyelet or connection. I'll see if I can find the picture. _________________ Dan DW '96 DD '01 Aztek '78 Royal |

You guys need to quit giving Tim a bad time about being OEM! LOL! There's always little glitches in everything, that's why Apache spent so much on R&D;!! Nothing wrong with wanting to stick close to original, nothing wrong with adapting to the problem/situation! By the way Tim, that's a really good idea, I'll have to look into it. |

Rubbing Tim is all in fun!! |
I used the reinforced hose in my Roamer but made it long enough so that it has plenty of curl when it is in the inuse position. Works very well. |

Yeah, Tim has good ideas sometimes |
Can't stay much about OEM.....lol |
Yeah we have changed some things on ours. We have had her 11 years, and decided when she had to be repainted, we were going to change that green. |
Well, what do I do....when it came time to get the paint, I took an access door and and the woman got the code off the door with her machine..and matched it perfectly. So, she is gonna get repainted the green ...and I don't even really like the green.....lol |

Wow, I'm honored. I came here tonight expecting not to win this award. everyone nominated was worthy and, uhm, gosh, I did'nt have anything ready... Well... I'de like to thank all of you who are rubbing at me, I have worked hard and long for this. For all who have stuck up for me in the face of a rub, I am truely honored. I want to thank the countless faces behind the scences, Deb, Ruth, aawebtools, Mike... you all have given me that little extra push towards excellence/insanity, excellence/insanity, all these voices in my head, I just don't know anymore! |

Well, Tim, shall I be completely honest? If it's OEM, it's because it came that way and I'm mostly too lazy/broke to change it!! |
