How do I lock the sidewalls to the roof? The prior owners never set the Ramada up properly and couldn't tell me how to clip the walls to the roof. The corner clamps are bent as well so the walls don't set properly. Please help ASAP as we're already at the campground and are setting up Sat. mornig!! ( tomorrow) Thanx in advance, Dawn

We have clips at each riser outside that holds and 2 clips inside. On ours we have to lift the catch(clip) and drop ot into the lower riser to hold the wall from the outside. After we put her up and hook the outside, inside we have the 2 clips on the wall that clip to the roadcover. One over the door and one by the electric hookup. Don't know if that helps Happy Camping Deb

Hi...

I have a '74 Ramada... after folding the sidewalls up from their "hanging" position, and pulling out the bed ends, I get inside and make sure the two thin metal "clips" are just inside the top rail, so as the top comes down, the sidewalls wind up inside the groove.... if you look up into the groove, you'll see the rubber seal that the walls meet with....

If you don't line the wall up with this groove, the camper won't look right from the outside...the top will look a little bowed...

One of my clips is now broken, but as I lower the top slightly to "lock" the walls, I walk over and make sure the sidewall is going into the slot. If not, I just crank a little at a time down and then guide it in.... otherwise, my wife or a friend can ensure that the sidewalls are properly aligned...once they are, a couple more cranks brings the top down onto the walls tight and locks up the camper.

If your Ramada was improperly set up before, a friend or two "gently assisting" the walls into the proper alignment while bringing it down very slowly may just give you the alignment you want for the future, too.

Check out this link for the set-up instructions/manual you can refer to: http://www.apacheowners.com/Manuals.html

I don't know if you mentioned the year of your Ramada, so I can't give you the link to the exact manual you'll need, but you'll find it there!

Good Luck.

Heya! Welcome to the Apache group!

I just wanted to point out that the answer to: "How do I lock the sidewalls to the roof?" is basically that you put the top down onto them.

The little side latches on each side only hold them in position while you are letting the top down.

You also got some good advice in reading the manual! I had to read it a number of times "practicing" before I correctly remembered all the steps perfectly, but once I did it became VERY easy.

Hope this all helps! Have fun camping! :>

I use small plastic clamps at each corner. I clamp the wall to the metal risers then lower the roof . It goes into the proper position every time. Once the roof is down and the walls are locked in I simply remove the clips

I use clamps also. The metal tabs that fit into the risers are bent on the street side of my camper, and until I fix the problem I've been using clamps to help hold the wall in place. It works pretty well. I use only light clamping pressure, just enough to hold the wall to the riser. I'm sure that there would be bad problems if you clamped down too tight on the riser.
