How do you turn fridge on in 1985 cimaron? Is there a switch to go from gas to electric? Where is the temp setting? I am new (first camper) owner and have looked all over. Thanks for any help |

If yours is anything like mine ('85 Cimarron) , the fridge runs on gas or 12 volt with no 120 volt option. It took a while, but I found the 12 v switch mounted in the fridge access compartment on the immediate left hand side of the outside hatch. I believe that the 12 Volt supply should come from the tow vehicle and not through the power converter - so it works on 12 v practically only when you are towing. The only temperature adjustment is the gas flow valve that is accessed through the outside access hatch. The fridge is started on gas using a piezoelectric starter in the back access compartment. It's a real pain trying to see whether the pilot light is on. bob |

I am installing a 3 way refrige in my Royal. Can you guys take a look at your Refrigerators from the backside, through the access door and describe to me the vent or ductwork for the exhaust gas. How is it directed through the louvers on the door? If you have the time a picture would be helpful. Thanks. |

That switch is the only one I could find. |
As for consumption, I don't know yet since I just purchased my Apache, but I would think it would go a long, long time on a full tank of propane. I think the stove and furnace would consume much more. |
The fridge is a Dometic RM190. I've got a manual for it, but it doesn't mention gas consumption. The 12 v power consumption is 95 W which equals |
about 325 btu/hour. A 20 lb tank contains 430,960 btu so that works out to over 1000 hr on one tank of propane (I've got two tanks on mine).
