This evening I'll be removing the front bezel from my Apache so I can do some repairs. The cracks expanded when I towed it from storage last weekend, and if I don't do something soon I'll lose another large chunk of bezel. After I pull the bezel, can I slide the bed back into place, replace the stops, and then lower the top and tow the Apache back to storage? Will I hurt anything towing the trailer without a front bezel? My plan is to fix the bezel this weekend, get the trailer out of storage, and then put the bezel back in. I'm in California, and we won't see rain anytime soon, so the trailer should be fine in storage without the bezel. If the hyperactive Homeowners Associaton were a little more reasonable, I could keep the Apache in my driveway. They don't allow that in my neighborhood though, so I have to haul the trailer back and forth from storage all the time.

Thanks to Tim's excellent instructions (that he sent four months ago), the front bezel came off easily. The wiring confused me for a moment, but when I figured out to take the whole harness off with the bezel, it went much easier. I even found some of the missing bezel pieces waiting for me inside. I also got to install my first pop rivet. I feel official now. As far as towing goes, I think I can tow without the front bezel in place as long as I keep the speed down. Now I'm wondering about replacing the bezel with a flat piece of ABS or marine grade plywood, and then installing my A/C on the tongue. It will have to be an off-center install, because the dinette in the Yuma runs half way across the front wall. I think I can balance that out by removing one of the propane tanks and moving the remaining one to the opposite side of the trailer tongue from the A/C. I'm leaning to using plywood, because that will allow me to mount some small boxes to hold the side lights. From eyeballing the front end, I think I can use 3/8" plywood for the front

Tim, weren't there some bezels designed for A/C installation? John _________________ Life is a highway 1977 Ramada

There were some bezels made for a/c's. The company installed them for "special orders". It was indented in the middle of the bezel for the a/c. I don't think there are any left though to get. Happy Camping Deb
